Strategy Corner: It’s a Trap! No it’s a Scam!

Some call it a curse, Medusa calls it a blessing.
Scam in Once Upon a Galaxy is the community term for characters like The Dreamer and Medusa who can take on characters much bigger than they are. Scam characters and builds can be a really strong thing to pursue when you have an opponent who is doing something really strong that’s going to be hard to otherwise compete with. Do they have a Hercules who is going to be out scaling you bigtime in the late game? A Blackbeard that’s wreaking havoc? Never fear, Scam is here! Because it takes some time to build up, a key feature to a successful Scam is to pay very close attention to your opponent’s positioning. If they’re all-in on a big Hercules, it’s really important for you to know if it’s in their front row or back row when deciding where to position YOUR Medusa! It’s important to make sure you have at least a few generically strong characters on your board; It’s all well and good to trade Wicked Witch and The Dreamer for the 2 strongest enemy characters, but you need to make sure you can mop up the rest afterwards. Lastly, make sure not to neglect your Treasures when you’re trying to scam. A single Poison Apple can really make a huge difference, and really combines well with CHUK-E by making all of your toy summoners into tiny ticking timebombs. Happy Scamming!

🚀 We’ve Moved! Join Us on Our New Subreddit: r/PlayGalaxy
We’re excited to announce that the official subreddit for Once Upon a Galaxy is now r/PlayGalaxy!
While we loved seeing early conversations take off in the original community, the previous subreddit’s owner has been unresponsive, making it difficult for us to properly moderate, update, or engage with players the way we want to.
So we’re setting up a fresh new space that is fully community-driven, dev-supported, and ready for all your deck builds, memes, lore theories, card combos, bug reports, and spicy takes.
Come be part of the conversation from Day 1. We’re building something stellar over there and we’d love for you to be a part of it.
Tales from the Galaxy

The Silversmith’s Price
In the glittering dark between moons, deals are struck in whispers, and one name carries the weight of a starship hull: Silversmith.
No one knows if they were forged or born, but all who fly the outer lanes know their terms. Silversmith is the galaxy’s most feared treasure broker — part banker, part alchemist, part judge. Pirates bring stolen relics, cursed cores, and star dust in crates, hoping to trade for ship repairs, safe passage, or the time to pay off their debts. Silversmith never blinks and never barters twice.
But there is one rule that echoes through the cosmos: Always pay your debt.
Those who fail to pay their debts vanish. Some say Silversmith uses the essence of their debtors to mint galactic currency. Others whisper that the shimmering silver figures pulling the treasure carts used to have names.
Either way, the message is clear. If you deal with the Silversmith, you get what you asked for… and pay, one way or another.
