Tales from the Galaxy: The Boy Who Cried Werewolf

Once upon a pasture, not so far from here,
Lived a shepherd boy known for spreading fear.
He’d shout, “A wolf!” with a gleam in his eye,
Though no one believed him, no matter his cry.

The villagers groaned, “It’s just a bad joke!”
While he cackled and howled through the mist and the smoke.
But one fateful night, 'neath a moon glowing red,
That cheeky young trickster tucked in his sheep into bed.

Beneath the red moonlight. He stood with a grin,
As whiskers appeared on his smooth little chin.
His eyes shimmered crimson, his teeth gleamed with might—
Two of his sheep even joined in the fright!

They sprouted sharp fangs, their wool turning wild,
While one little lamb simply stared, horrified.
He blinked and he baaa’d and he scooted away,
While the boy and his wolves began planning their play...

Now the pasture is quiet. The boy is long gone.
But if you hear howling just past the dawn…
You’ll know that his mischief was more than just talk—
Because now, dear reader, the village is his flock.
