Challenge Recap: Patty Cake, Patty Cake!

On the last edition of the Galaxy Gazette, we challenged the community to make their favorite confectionary treat and send us a photo to celebrate Candylar and we selected one of them as our winner!

Congrats to MagicMik3 in our community Discord and his Nuttin’ Stopping This Cheesecake! What an amazingly tasty looking treat and a fantastically punny name!

Community Challenge #8: The Largest Snow Ball

This issues challenge comes in the form of seeking big numbers. Your task is this:

1.) Find a Snow Ball in a shop

2.) Buff Snow Ball to large and silly proportions

3.) Share a picture of your top 3 Victory screen with your large Snow Ball in the Community-Challenge section of our Discord or tag us @playgalaxygame with #SnowballChallenge on Twitter, Bluesky or Instagram.

This competition will last until December 1st! Have fun rolling and growing!

Mid-November Balance Patch Preview

We are making a good number of balance changes this patch with two major goals:

• More cards are fair, buffing weak cards to make them more playable while nerfing some of the outliers that were too good.

• Reducing the amount of full heart damage being dealt in the early turns.

There will be a bunch of card changes beyond this preview and we are implementing a new behind the scenes matchmaking system that will reduce the frequency of very strong boards in the early game. They will still appear, but at a lower rate. This is something we will be paying very close attention to and adjusting as we get feedback.

The Candyman

We have decided to rework the wording on The Candyman. The end result will lower The Candyman’s starting buff down from +1/+1 and +0/+0. We hope this allows closer fights against Candyman boards in the first several turns before that initial sweetening is available. This also provides risk for Candyman players when taking early normally low-stat characters.

Gokatoo

Our favorite charging bird was just not quite providing that comeback punch we were hoping for. We hope by adding a second bonus shop, it can help folks turn the corner and unleash it’s true potential.

Sweet Tooth

Sweet Tooth’s ability was adding too much power in the early game contributing to the imbalanced feel of some captains when you face them in turn 3 to 7. This change will help push that advantage back a few turns while also giving her a much stronger late game.
